Tethered exists to bring radical, honest transparency to how people bet, and that starts with how we treat your own data. Your privacy and dignity are not in tension with that mission, they are the foundation of it: the trust you place in Tethered and in your accountability partner only works if you can also trust us with what we see. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it, and the limits we hold ourselves to.

• Account information: your name and email address, used to create and secure your login.
• Financial data via Plaid: read-only transaction amounts, dates, and merchant categories from accounts you choose to connect. Tethered never views, handles, or stores your bank login credentials, we never see your username or password for any financial institution, and we cannot move, withdraw, or touch your money.
• Partner details: the name and email address of the accountability partner(s) you designate, used solely to deliver monitoring alerts and check-ins.

Tethered uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect to your financial institutions and retrieve your transaction data. Plaid's own privacy practices govern how your information is handled once it passes through their systems, and we ask that you read and understand the following before connecting an account:

“Tethered uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to gather your data from financial institutions. By using our service, you grant Tethered and Plaid the right, power, and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from the relevant financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.”

We use the data described above to calculate your deposit budgets, track your clean streaks, and alert your accountability partner when wagering activity or a connection issue needs their attention. That is the entire purpose of the data we hold.

We do NOT sell, rent, monetize, or broker your personal or financial data to data brokers, advertisers, or third parties.

• You may disconnect a linked account at any time. Doing so revokes the associated Plaid access token and purges the cached transaction records tied to that connection.
• You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below.
